Hello Bookworms,
I hope that when this is posted you are all healthy, happy, and hopeful. I am definitely doing things in my life that I enjoy to help keep my focus on positive thoughts and things. I have a couple of days off from my full time job right now so I plan to read, write, and color. Does anyone else color? I thought it was silly at first but man it’s really relaxing.
I personally love to focus on things that uplift me, things that are relaxing and joyful. Today is day one of two that I am off so I decided to color and listen to one of my favorite YouTube content creators. I laid all of my Tombow markers out before me. I spread the palms of my hand over them making them roll back and forth bringing the array of colors to life. Maybe it was the whoosh of the markers rolling back and forth, I’m not sure, but I’m taken back in time to 1985.
1985, a year, an era in time that came with scratching music on record players and boomboxes on the shoulders of the coolest hippiest men. Beatbox could he heard on the corners as the girls played hopscotch and double dutch. There were no cell phones instead there were pay phones. Pictures were taken using 35mm film. And if you weren’t going to the movies for a movie night, you were walking into Blockbuster for a VHS of the movie you wanted to watch.
Were we happier back then? I personally think yes, I was freer, more innocent, and yes happier. Some would answer in agreement while others would have their own opinions. I think this question is a personal one that is allowed to have its own responses. Feel free to leave yours below.
Until next time Bookworms, stay safe, stay positive.
we truly were happier when we didn’t have social medias and phones. we were more free snd careless in a good way.

I know I was truly happier back then! I’m not sure if it was because I was a child or because it really was a simpler time. I also love to color, but nothing very complicated with intricate patterns, and I don’t do all of the fancy shading techniques and adding patterns within the pictures. I just take what’s in front of me and color. It IS relaxing and helps spark my creativity.
And oh….the Blockbuster days!!! 🥹I LOVED Blockbuster! I spent many weekends renting the newest released VHS tapes and DVDs. I also loved that you could also rent video games because it was nice to try out a game before I committed to buying one. Every year for Christmas and birthdays I would ask for Blockbuster gift cards. Aaahh…those were the good ole days!
